A Stereo Artist is an experienced artist who has consistently shown a high-level of skill and productivity in stereo production. The Stereo Artist should show a level of self-reliance that does not require close supervision from a Lead Stereo Artist; however they are expected to defer to the Lead Stereo Artist for guidance. They must have a solid understanding of the creative side of 3D conversion and can efficiently take a shot through all depth tasks.

 

The Stereo Artist reports to the Lead Stereo Artist for all production related tasks and to the Depth Department Supervisor for administrative concerns.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 – Consistently produce quality work that is assigned to him/her

– Shot production capability is expected to advance in efficiency and difficulty than that of a Jr. Stereo Artist

– Keep up-to-date on the latest tools and shares his/her knowledge with Jr. Stereo Artists

– Break down a shot creatively and technically including continuity, specs, volume, and animation

– Set a good example for other artists by exemplifying a strong work ethic and enthusiastic demeanor

– Help demonstrate proper techniques and procedures to Jr. Stereo Artists

– Consistently adhere to proper protocol and procedures

– Keep current with changes in workflow, procedures, and overall assignments

– Maintain a strong working knowledge of the production tools required for the job

– Assist in documentation of effective workflow methods and techniques for training purposes, when asked

– Notify Lead of issues with shots and budgetary concerns

– From creative/ artistic viewpoints trouble shoot issues from tool errors

– Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

– College degree preferred

– Knowledge of animation software preferred

– Strong oral/written communication skills required

– Specific technical problem solving skills required

– Strong digital file management skills required

Working conditions

– Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position for the majority (up to 90%) of a shift

– Must be able to use hands/fingers to operate a computer and other office machinery

– Will be working in a low-lit environment, and may be subject to eye strain

– Must be able to see in Stereo (3D)
