VFX Editor / Video Producer (300 views)

This is a great role that demands a unique blend of creativity, organisation, technical ability and attention to detail.   

As VFX Editor you will incorporate all required versions of visual effects shots into the current cuts of the VFX / live action sequences. You will also create a functioning environment where the VFX Supervisor can evaluate any version of any shot in the current sequences, for aesthetic and technical direction. This position works closely with Data i.o, IT, Pipeline and Producers to manage all incoming media and outgoing deliverables.

As Video Producer you will work closely with the Commercial Director to create high quality video content for internal and external sales and marketing purposes.  Everything from bespoke pitch reels to behind the scenes videos.


VFX Editing

  • Maintain sequence edits and insert visual effects shots into the timeline
  • Manage and document the turnover of shots from editorial through to delivery including ingesting new media into pipeline
  • Ensure Shotgun is maintained with current shot counts, lineup and any retime instructions
  • Ensure that published shots conform to the current edit and perform basic QC checks
  • Prepare sequence edits for internal and client approvals when required
  • Create daily playlists and operate the screening room system for dailies
  • Perform shot specific colour corrections to match editorial reference when required
  • Perform shot retimes to match supplied editorial reference when required
  • Create rough shot mockups as proof of concept for artists and supervisors
  • Work in partnership with vfx teams and compositors to ensure shots are delivered to the very highest standard while maintaining schedules

Video Producing

  • Create content from original and existing material to meet the brief’s requirements
  • Manage video content projects and all deliverables from pre-production through post-production
  • Manage footage database ensuring all content is properly tagged and easy to find in a well structured system
  • Prioritise workload to ensure timely delivery of projects

Required Experience:

  • Demonstrable VFX editing experience in the film and television industry
  • Experience producing content from scratch and existing materials
  • Expert knowledge of Premiere and FCP
  • An eye for detail and thorough understanding of techniques, file formats, colour-space, software and technology relating to live action visual effects
  • Working knowledge of Nuke, Shotgun and Hiero
  • Ability to convert between key numbers, time-codes and frames
  • Comfortable with most video codecs and formats and the ability to transcode between them flawlessly
  • Experience filming, capturing audio and setting up simple lighting
  • Experience selecting and editing music to suit a project
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills
  • Knowledge of CC would be a bonus
